Blood Collection

Blood collection is a routine medical procedure performed as part of laboratory testing. To ensure accurate results and a smooth experience, it is important to be informed about the process and follow basic recommendations.

Before Blood Collection

Before taking a blood sample, it is important to follow basic preparation guidelines to ensure reliable test results. Factors such as fasting, diet, medication use, physical activity, and posture can influence laboratory values to varying degrees.

Because preparation requirements may differ depending on the type of test or diagnostic panel, we recommend contacting the Customer Service Department in advance if you are unsure how to prepare or if you need specific instructions for your tests.

Upon arrival at the blood collection point, our staff will register your personal details, including your full name and date of birth. For identification purposes, a valid personal identification document is required.

You will be asked to specify the laboratory tests you wish to perform. For certain investigations, additional information may be needed.

Please inform our staff if you are pregnant or suspect that you may be pregnant, and let us know about any medications or supplements you are currently taking. This information is important for your safety and for the correct interpretation of test results.

Before sample collection, our staff will also verify whether the preparation guidelines for the selected tests have been followed.

Blood Collection Procedure

Blood collection is performed by qualified medical personnel trained in venous blood sampling procedures.

At the collection point, your identity will be confirmed, after which you will be seated comfortably in a dedicated collection chair. The required amount of blood will then be collected.

During or shortly after blood collection, some individuals may experience temporary symptoms such as dizziness, lightheadedness, or feeling unwell. In rare cases, fainting may occur.

If you notice ringing in your ears, nausea, discomfort, or any unusual sensations during or after the procedure, please inform our staff immediately. Prompt communication allows us to take appropriate measures and prevent potential complications.

After Blood Collection

Following venous blood sampling, mild and temporary reactions may occur, such as slight bleeding at the puncture site, bruising (hematoma), or local inflammation.

To reduce the likelihood of discomfort:

  • Apply firm pressure to the puncture site with the provided cotton pad for at least 5 minutes, or until bleeding has completely stopped.
  • Keep your arm extended during this time.

If bruising or tenderness develops, applying clean, cold compresses with saline solution several times a day may help relieve symptoms.

Very rarely, nerve irritation or injury may occur during blood collection.

In the event of significant or persistent symptoms, we recommend contacting your personal doctor for further evaluation.
